Hello loves! I just returned home from my weekend getaway in Turks and Caicos and I am pooped lol. I really wanted to get this outfit up on the blog today before I let myself get too lazy cause this wrap dress is the most stunning casual chic outfit I have found in a while. I love, love, love it!
The day we were shooting this look I had a little bit of an incident right before we started shooting. It was a beautiful day in South Beach (in the middle of season I might add), which means that South Beach was guaranteed to be packed with people, tourist, families etc. I had in my mindset already coming down from Boca Raton that I would probably be looking for parking for around an hour hoping to catch someone coming out of their spot at the exact moment I pulled around a corner.
We were shooting at Lilikoi Organic Living, which is a cute cafe and lunch spot south of 5th Street. I decided to try my luck and see if I would be lucky to get a parallel street parking spot right outside the restaurant. Wishful thinking but hey, I had to satisfy my need just to check. I rounded the corner right in front of Lilikoi organic Living and “OH MY GAWD”…. there’s a spot available!!!! Right in front I must add! I couldn’t believe my luck! I go to start backing into the spot when I notice a guy on a bicycle waving at me. Do I know him? Does he know me? I’ve never seen him before so I assumed he was waving at someone else and I continued to back in the spot when he then came up to my passenger window. I roll it down and he tells me that he so sorry but he’s saving this spot for someone. I looked behind me…then in front of me… count down from 10…8….5….1… and still no one. Listen buddy, regardless if I accept your claim and leave right now, you’re not holding onto this spot for 10 min on your bicycle. Someone is going to mow you down for it and If I don’t take this spot right now, someone else is going to.
So I politely but firmly said, “Um sir, you cannot hold a parking spot with a bicycle for someone who isn’t even close to arriving. I’m parking here. ” And that’s exactly what I did. He shamed me verbally for about 5 min and I just kept it moving. This is just not how the world works in my mind. I do have to admit it was kind of awkward shooting these pictures while he and the girl he was with (who arrived like 15 min later I might add) were giving me the evil eye from their table across the restaurant. Oh well, getting these shots were more important to me that a few butt hurt people. Afterwards, I kind of felt bad but come on, it’s South Beach in February… in real life you do not collect $200 by passing “Go” and we do not get to save parking spots for people who are not here with bicycles. Anyways, that’s the story and yes we got some amazing shots. You can shop the dress below.
