So close to Valentine’s Day and I have been looking through a bunch of styles to wear for the occasion. I know, I know, Valentine’s Day is just a made up holiday and shouldn’t we show our partners we love them every day of the year? Yes, but lets be honest… it’s still fun and if you know anything about me yet, I love to have an excuse to dress up.
Even though the holiday is sprinkled with pinks, reds and violets, sometimes that’s just not everyone’s thing. I as well don’t love being too matchy-matchy with holiday themes and think that excluding color can still be beautiful and sexy too. I thought this dress was a perfect alternative for anyone not looking for a pink or red look. I think this dress has a sophistication to it and is the perfect but fun alternative for Valentine’s Day fashion.
When shooting this look, we didn’t really have a set location but we found this gate in front of a residential community in Coconut Grove and the guard at the gate was really nice (and vocal) about us shooting there. It was extremely hard to keep a straight face for I think between every snap of the camera I heard a “you get it girl” or “yassss” and “that’s it honey, make ’em work for it” from the security booth. It was refreshing to see someone actually excited about us shooting somewhere. Most people, security guards etc. almost find it a hinderance. When walking back to the car I passed a bunch of loud construction workers on break and I got a bunch of shouts from them too but I don’t know, it bothered me somehow. I hate being cat called. BUT… if that’s the reaction you are going for this Valentine’s Day from Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now, I say this piece is a winner lol. Have fun and don’t take it too seriously. Shop the look below.
