I happen to love pieces like this. Anything with texture and a little pizazz and I am in… most times. My husband, who is bold in other ways, loves to clown on me and I think the word “Chewbacca” came out of his mouth as I was walking down the door. He’s used to me ignoring him but that earned him a snide comment out of the corner of my mouth as I headed to my car.
I told myself this year I wasn’t going to be an “ordinary blogger” while a lot of bloggers out there have tons of success by showcasing tons of basics and nude’s and your ordinary department store picks, the market is just so saturated and standing out is my new mission. No more cute sweaters and cable knits or black and grey basics that really just fade into the background. If I feel like I’m standing inside the box, it’s the wrong choice. I scower the internet to find interesting pieces on a routine basis now for isn’t that what fashion should be? Interesting? It should start a discussion, turn heads, make a statement, and if it’s not… well I am just not interested anymore. I urge you to try this in every part of your life. If you’re going to do it, do it loudly. Make it bold. Make it fun!
When seeing this jacket from Revolve, I started too think that I couldn’t pull it off. Having a small frame I thought that this jacket would overpower me. Never the less, risks must be taken and purchased it was. I was even more skeptical when it came out of the box. I thought, “oh what am I going to do with this?” I know it’s easy to hear from all or most bloggers that “once I saw it, I fell in love” (not true)…so I have to be honest that I was a little intimidated by this piece. Once I started pulling other items together to style it, it came together in a way that I was so proud of. I felt inspired to take myself out of my comfort zone more often and bring out that “fashionista” who I am sure still hasn’t completely or fully surfaced yet. Along with the hot red sock booties you all saw earlier this week, I feel like I made a great statement and put together a head turning look. I know a lot of my followers are in a certain age range but I hope somewhere out there, there is a little girl seeing this post and feels inspired to do things grandly always and take it through life with her.
