Another outfit post and yet another story. As bloggers, finding a location is not always as easy as it looks. Every outfit takes a certain amount of attention and picking a great location can make or break a shoot. We shoot so much in Miami that sometimes we feel like we are on a merry go round and are constantly using the same locations. There are some that we use often because we know that they just work. Those are the special ones that we try and keep secret to bring a little originality to this ever growing world of bloggers.
The one I shot at here was actually somewhat of a common location. Just one problem, it’s one of those places that you’re technically not allowed to shoot. I often wonder what blogging was like back in 2009 when Instagram was just starting and no one really knew what fashion blogging was. I so wish I could have been a pioneer in this business for I feel like it would have been so easy to just shoot anywhere and everywhere and no one would say anything to you. Now, every building, business front, and sidewalk is “claimed” and “private” and you have to ask for permission to shoot in front of a common stop light it seems lol. Or sometimes you just take the risk and run to that one spot you know will look boom and just start shooting.
Well that’s what we did. We ran into the underpass at Brickell City Center and Luccia just started clicking away. This oversized leopard dress and these red hot booties just popped against the background. It was a shopping center so there were a lot of people staring and wondering what I was up to but I guess I am used to that at this point. Once we wrapped the shoot up and I started to put my sneakers on was when we were finally discovered and a hefty security guard with a mean mug heading straight for us. Dare we run or suffer the consequences? I was all for running but Luccia stood there with her head up like “can I help you?” We ended up getting a good smack on the wrist and hurried out of there before we got in anymore trouble… and that is how this blog post was born.
You can shop these red booties and dress below. These booties are seriously my new fave. They are like a sock bootie but sturdier and are surprisingly extremely comfortable. I have a feeling they are going to sell out fast cause they are just that darn cute.
