I think it goes without saying that blog photos and pictures don’t just “happen” anymore. I think even the average consumer these days just doesn’t think that their favorite blogger just snapped 10 perfectly usable photos without planning and organizing everything from what their Instagram feed will look like to when they need to wash their hair next and so forth. When I was stying this look, I realized that I needed to wash my hair so that I could wear my hair straight for my shoot the next day. Too bad I happened to realize this only at 9pm the night before…(our UPS driver delivers realllly late so I had just received the items an hour before my usual bedtime). Doesn’t sound so bad but because of the natural curl in my hair, to get my hair straight like this it takes anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on what treatments I decide to do or what my hair needs. So in my head: “if I start now, I guess I’m not going to be going to bed until possibly 1am. Great”. It sucks but the show must go on. We cannot strive for anything less than perfect now can we?
This wash day I was feeling a little bit of softness/breakage and decided it was time for a protein treatment to put strength back into my strands (let me know if anyone is interested in a hair post). Unfortunately, I was washing my hair at home and realized I ran out of my hair protein treatment. Ugh. I had read on Pinterest at one point that if you add a raw egg to any moisturizing treatment you can create a DIY protein treatment right at home. Perfect right? WRONG! I like to intensify my treatments with a hot conditioning cap to open the fair follicles and help the product get deeper into the hair strand. It’s a normal practice for me so that’s what I did. A little bit after an hour I took off the cap only to realize the raw egg cooked in my hair!!!! Oh my goodness it was HORRIFYING and disgusting too!!! Literally, I had scrambled eggs in my strands. In hindsight, I wish I took a photo but it was way too late at night and I had to rewash all of this product/breakfast from my hair. Next time Pinterest gives me a DIY hack, I’ll say “No Thank You”. Probably very fitting for the tshirt dress I was wearing below (only $50). It’s funny how that works out. At least I had strong shiny strands for the next day!
So I dragged myself to Miami the next morning and I have to say that the outfit, the hair, and these booties, were glowing! Can we also seriously talk about these booties?! I am IN LOVE!!!! They are simply a must buy for any fashionista! These are some strutting boots …and strut in them I did! I guess it all worked out in the end even though I had a mishap the night before. Go ahead and shop the outfit below.
