Hot Cocoa recipe
Hello loves! With the all of the holiday fun comes the little tasty treats that we get to indulge in. For me, you can’t have Christmas without hot cocoa. Even though I live in Florida it is the perfect holiday cup of goodness to get you in the holiday spirit. I am not a seasoned cook by any means but this stove cooked hot cocoa is as easy as can be. Hope you enjoy!
Hershey’s Spiced Hot Cocoa Recipe
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of Hershey’s Cocoa
4 cups (1 quart) of milk
1/3 cup of hot water
3/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg
Dash of salt
Miniatures marshmallows and candy canes (optional)
- Mix together the sugar, cocoa and salt and water into a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil and stir for an additional 2 minutes.
- Add milk; stirring constantly, heat to serving temperature. Do Not Boil.
- Remove from heat; add vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat with rotary beater or whisk until foamy. Serve topped with marshmallows or whipped cream, if desired. Five 8-oz. servings.
