Hello loves! I can’t tell you how excited I am to reveal our engagement photos. I am also so glad to finally introduce Andrew to the blog. Say hello everyone! I personally was so excited during the whole process of planning and creating our engagement photos. It was the first real step for the wedding that was 100% just for us. While planning every aspect of the wedding is fun, when the big day is finally over, your photos (as well as the marriage) are all you have left. This is why it was particularly exciting to hunt down the perfect wedding photographer.
Not being a novice to having my picture taken, it was especially important to find a photographer that wasn’t satisfied with the ordinary. We found all of this and more in Alain Martinez. Finding him on our wedding venue’s referral list, one look at his website and I knew his artistry was going to take our wedding to the next level.
To be honest, Andrew was not thrilled about this step in the process. He does not like being on camera. After much debating and using whatever leverage I had, I somehow got Andrew to appear at the our shooting location, which was about an hour and thirty minutes away from where we live. At about 7:30am I might add. Goodness that man loves me!
Alain and I had been going back and forth brainstorming about the setting and feel for the shoot and we decided on a mystical type theme. I wanted that fairy tale aspect and I couldn’t have been happier with the imagery and artistry that resulted in our engagement photos. Alain had a bunch of ideas such as the smoke bombs that you see in the photos as well as the location and he truly hit it out of the park. Being that this was probably Andrew’s first photo shoot since his law school graduation photo, Alain really worked with him so well and truly captured some beautiful moments. I can’t wait to see what he does with capturing the actual wedding.
The flower crown I am wearing was actually made by me per instruction of Miami Flower Market from an event I had hosted the night before. I had ordered one from Etsy which hadn’t arrived in time. Luckily my DIY skill came in handy and I was able to conjure up one during our own flower crown making class. If you are in South Florida you can find their current class schedule here.
As for the skirt my friend and fellow blogger Alice Marie, made me not only one but two engagement shoot outfits. She was so amazing and patient with me. Wanting to make sure I was truly satisfied, she even took me to pick out the fabrics and had multiple fitting with me to make sure everything was just right. I’ll make sure to post the first outfit she had for me later on next week. It is truly spectacular!!! I hope you all enjoy, thank you for stopping by!
