Hello loves!! Living in South Florida, I can’t tell you how much damage we do to our hair. Not only all year long but especially during the summertime there is always a lot of stresses on the tresses. One of the things that I love to do is be preventative. I have tried many different treatments as far as mixing sunscreen with oil and spraying my hair as lightly as possible before going out on a boat all day or spending time on the beach.
The problem with that is that it makes your hair really greasy and weighs your strands down. I have tried a lot of DIY options because to be honest, in the words of the late Joan Rivers, “if it ain’t broke, fix it before it is” lol. Although she was talking about plastic surgery and botox, your hair is very important too. There is nothing worse than having to cut off multiple inches of your hair because of the lack of care you gave your delicate tresses during the summer.
I was really excited to try these products from AVEDA. After I tried them all I sighed with relief and said “Finally!! my search for the perfect sun care for hair is over.” The product I use the most must be the Protective Hair Veil. I just spray this baby right on my strands before exposing them to the dangerous rays of the sun. If you’re styling from scratch I suggest using the Smooth Infusion Style-Prep smoother first because it really helps against humidity….*Floridian women rejoice* … then finish up with the Protective Hair Veil .
All of these daily remedies will really help prevent damage but the most important thing for me has to to be the After-Sun Hair Masque. Conditioning is the most important part of my routine and I swear by using a deep conditioner once a week. Not to mention this masque smells like heaven!!! Now that we are transitioning into fall, this is a really good product to invest in if you haven’t been protecting your hair against the intense sun rays this past summer. I hope these items will help all of you with any of your hair sun care needs. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for stopping by!
